Minimally Invasive Treatments:

Korunda Pain Management Center can provide the answer for those who are in chronic pain and don’t know how to overcome it.  Pain management methods use minimally invasive treatments to help patients overcome their daily pain and learn to live a pain-free life once again.  There are a variety of minimally invasive treatments which can be provided for those who have chronic pain and seek pain management help.

Nerve Conduction Studies

Nerve conduction studies are not the actual treatment method but they are studies which help diagnose the exact illness thereby leading to the end result, which is the treatment.  The nerve conduction study is minimally invasive and consists of monitoring the nerve reactions to electrical pulse stimulation generated to the body via electrodes.  This is a short procedure, usually around 30-60 minutes, and allows the doctor to go forward with treatment once the diagnosis is rendered based on the nerve conduction study results.

Epidural Injections

Epidural injections are given to the patient in the epidural space of the spine and are used to relieve pain which can be caused by one of many different medical conditions.  The steroid injections will help to reduce inflammation and pressure on certain areas throughout the body.  As opposed to surgery, epidural injections are a popular treatment method due to their less invasive attributes.

Spinal Cord Stimulation

Spinal cord stimulation is the process of inserting a small pulse generator in the patient’s abdomen with wires attached to the spinal cord.  The generator will give out small pulses at certain times throughout the day to allow the patient to gain pain relief.  These pulses help one to get rid of chronic pain as they will overpower the nerve impulses and make pain a thing of the past.  This again is less invasive than many surgical procedures which are administered to resolve symptoms from different types of medical problems.
